Appy New Year

Watching that beautiful ball drop in times square and counting down to 0 is fun, but it is never easy to look into a a crystal ball and tell what technology will do in the coming year. As I look into the new year, here is what I see happening.
Healthcare – Healthcare will be rapidly changing in the coming year. Since care is all about communication, it will be interesting to see how that communication turns mobile.
PatientSafe Solutions, who recently raised another round of capital, is a touch based clinical app that uses real time data capture to enhance patient safety at the point-of-care. From glucose for diabetes to asthma, apps are being downloaded everyday. Check out: Asthmapolis. Asthma Journal. AsthmaMD. GlaxoSmithKline’s MyAsthma. AsthmaSense and AirSonea
Curvo Labs – is from Evansville, Indiana and presented Tech-on-tap. According to Curvolabs.com, Curvo is turning the healthcare supply chain on its head with a new way for hospitals and suppliers to connect, unlock innovation, and deliver new value to patients and communities.
Mobile Paying – Customers will expect to be able to pay from their iPhone. (You can thank Starbucks for that)
3D Printing = although not necessarily mobile – it will be HUGE in 2018.
As a double zero agent, James Bond hits close to home. Did you know that in his recent movie skyfall, the model car in the action scenes was printed with a 3D printer? Yes, you read that correctly, the Aston Martin was printed with a 3D printer.
